Kwantitatieve MRI T1-relaxatietijd onderscheidt complete respons na neoadjuvante therapie bij rectumcarcinoom
Een prospectieve studie van 44 patiënten met rectumcarcinoom onderzocht de diagnostische waarde van kwantitatieve MRI T1-relaxatietijd als biomarker voor complete respons zes weken na neoadjuvante therapie.
De T1-relaxatietijd onderscheidde complete van incompleet respons met een AUC van 0,94. Deze resultaten wijzen erop dat de methode een veelbelovend niet-invasief hulpmiddel kan zijn om de respons op neoadjuvante behandeling te monitoren, hoewel grootschalige validatie nodig is om de klinische implementatie te stroomlijnen.
