Abstract (original)

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with a high incidence of spinal metastasis and poor prognosis. Spinal metastasis of LUAD is not merely a simple bone metastasis but a directed metastasis process mediated by the anatomical characteristics of the spine, microenvironment specificity, and molecular regulatory mechanisms. However, current research mainly focuses on general bone metastasis, and a dedicated mechanism and precise diagnosis and treatment system for spinal-directed metastasis have not yet been established. Therefore, this article systematically elaborates on the molecular mechanisms of LUAD spinal-directed metastasis from three key aspects: metastatic potential, microenvironment regulation, and metastasis pathways. Combined with the clinical characteristics of spinal metastasis and the current research deficiencies, it provides new ideas for basic research and clinical precise prevention and treatment of LUAD spinal metastasis.
